Igor Jakowlewitsch Pomeranzew,  auch Pomerantsev, Pomeranzev; geboren am 11. Januar 1948 in Saratow in der UDSR. Studierte englische Philologie und Pädagogik an der Universität Czernowitz. Seine ersten Lyrik-Veröffentlichungen erschienen 1972 in der Moskauer Zeitschrift „Smena“. Er hatte Kontakt zur ukrainischen Bürgerrechtsbewegung. 1976 wurde Pomeranzev vom KGB verhaftet. 1977 wurde ihm nahegelegt zu emigrieren.1978 Ausreise nach Deutschland.  1979 Umzug nach London, Arbeit für BBC.  1987 wechselte  er nach München, seit diesem Zeitpunkt als Produzent für Radio Free Europe, Russland (RFE/RL) tätig. Seit Oktober 2008 Herausgeber von Zeitzug. Im September 2010 fand das durch ihn initiierte Poetik-Festival "Meridian Czernowitz" erstmals statt. Seit 1991 pendelt Igor Pomerantsev zwischen  London und Prag.

Igor Yakovlevich Pomerantsev , born January 11, 1948 in Saratov in the USSR) is a Russian writer. He studied English philology and pedagogy at the University of Czernowitz. His first poetry publications appeared in 1972 in the Moscow magazine "Smena". He had contact with the Ukrainian civil rights- movement. 1976 Pomerantsev was arrested by the KGB. He was alleged to have distributed political literature and have to listen to enemy radio stations and to maintain contacts with foreigners. 1977, he was encouraged to emigrate. In 1978 he emigrated together with his wife and the ten-month-old son to Germany. In 1979 he moved to London where he worked for the BBC. In 1987 he moved to Munich, to work till now as radio broadcaster) for Radio Free Europe (Russia Culture) / Radio Liberty (RFE/RL). Since 1991 he lives in Prague and London.
